NHSSC Cross-Country Ski Outing at Jackson XC, Saturday, March 8th, 10:00am - Noon
We will likely ski the popular Ellis River Trail with an optional stop at the Cocoa Cabin and fire pit (bring cash for cocoa). Please meet us at 9:45am inside the Jackson XC Touring Center and look for EICSL leaders Donna Cleary, Hank Kells and Dave Campbell by the fireplace. We'll ski promptly at 10am, so please arrive early to rent ski equipment (if needed) and buy a discounted trail pass for $15 (today only, normally $25). All ability levels are welcome, but we ask those that are new or returning to the sport to be competent on green-level hills. We may split into beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced groups as needed. Please email [email protected] with any questions and/or to be added to our direct email list.
JAY PEAK SPRING TRIP - 3/30/24 - 4/4/25
LAST CALL for the NHSSC Spring Jay trip! We have a few spots in some condos that are still available. If you are interested in joining the trip, please email [email protected] by Feb 21, 2025 before registering for the trip. Trip Details: https://www.eicsl.org/trips--discounts.html 2024+25 Jay Peak season pass holders can deduct $190 from their trip cost. It's that time again...
Race Mix-up - You have my ski pole, I have yours STILL!
At the race at Attitash someone swapped one of their poles for one of my poles while I was TD. Please look as your poles as mine are 2” longer K2 poles and yours are 2” shorter Scott poles. Should be pretty obvious. Contact Clark Linehan, [email protected] and we can arrange a mutual reunion. Maybe whoever has it hasn’t skied since the last race because I haven’t heard anything. If you were skiing with someone near the end of the 2nd run look at their poles it’ll be very obvious, mine are much thinner and longer carbon fiber poles. Hopefully if nothing else we can connect at the Championship Race.
NHSSC Elections for the 2025/2026 BOD - May 12, 2025 - 7:30PM - IN-PERSON MEETING - VENUE TBD
Only the EICSL representatives for each club that are on record with the EICSL secretary may vote. Each EICSL club can designate 2 representatives, and an alternate. Each club can cast up to 2 votes. If you are not sure who you have designated as your EICSL reps, or if you would like to assign alternates, please email me at [email protected] . Alternate or other designated person can be assigned by your club President by sending an email to [email protected] so new person can be noted as available to vote. THIS MUST BE DONE IN ADVANCE OF THE VOTING MEETING TO BE VALID. If you are interested in running for a BOD position please email me at [email protected] so we can develop our list of candidates. Once we have the full list it will be communicated..
Maybe you want to get more involved with the league in other ways, why not express your interest in being your club's NHSSC Rep and you can come to meetings and see what's involved. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with committees and other fun stuff like helping the XC Ski Committee as a trip leader so there are a lot of different ways you can get involved! If anyone has any questions or want to talk about any of this further please do not hesitate to contact me directly Anne Marie Tierney, [email protected] or any current EICSL BOD members who know first-hand what is involved.
LET'S HELP EACH OTHER OUT!
We are looking to promote our members staying at each other's clubs when it makes sense. Nothing going on at your club or it's family time at your club, why not stay at one of the other clubs? On a super-busy weekend why not help another club out by giving them any overflow that you cannot accommodate, whether it be members or guests. In the past most clubs offered members from other clubs a reciprocal rate of less than their guest fee. We are looking for formalize this practice by asking clubs to honor this +and by charging those members $20 or something similar. Guest fees will of course remain what you currently charge. This will always be with the understanding that the club member reaches out in advance to the club they want to stay at and follow their reservation process for planning purposes.. Send me your thoughts at [email protected] and will share them in upcoming meetings.
